============================================ Trans Computer Maschine Audio-Rate FM Tricks ============================================
Some patching tips to achieve those noisy but warm analogue FM sounds in T-C-M v2.6 and above.
OSC1 FM: - Select some audio sources in the S/H Mixer -> Select S/H Mixer from the OSC1 FM1 sources. (2) - Set OSC3 to audio (Low F = Off) -> Select any OSC3 option from the OSC1 FM1 sources.
OSC2 FM: - Select some audio sources in the S/H Mixer -> Select S/H Mixer from the OSC2 FM1 sources. (2) - Set OSC3 to audio (Low F = Off) -> Select any OSC3 option from the OSC2 FM1 sources.
OSC3 FM: - Select some audio sources in the S/H Mixer -> Select S/H Mixer from the OSC3 FM1 sources. (2)
Filter cut-off FM: - Select some audio sources in the S/H Mixer -> Select S/H Mixer from the Filter Mod1 sources. - Set OSC3 to audio (Low F = Off) -> Select any OSC3 option from the Filter Mod2 sources.
Notes:
(1) Any cross-modulation can also arise according to the endless combinations, including what happens in the Ring Modulator.
(2) As in a real analogue, auto-FM works as a kind of waveshaper so don't expect that bell-like sound by making a connection like "OSCn via S/H Mixer modulating OSCn".
Now go and abuse it!
